Understanding Our Task Structure

What is a Task?

A task is a distinct, actionable item within our IT support, development, or design services, characterized by a single, clear objective. It involves a specific action or set of actions that can be completed efficiently and within a defined timeframe.

Tasks are focused and manageable, ensuring that each task addresses one objective. When multiple objectives are involved, they result in separate tasks, each requiring individual attention and execution.

IS a Task

Update or Change Copy on a Website Page

Example: Adjusting the text on the "About Us" page to reflect new company information.

Fix a Broken Link on a Website

Example: Correcting a hyperlink on the "Contact Us" page that leads to a 404 error.

Add a New Blog Post

Example: Publishing a new blog entry with provided content and images on the company blog.

Install a Security Plugin

Example: Adding and configuring a WordPress security plugin to enhance site protection.

Design a New Logo

Example: Creating a new company logo based on provided brand guidelines.

Update Software to the Latest Version

Example: Upgrading the CMS or plugin software to the latest version to ensure compatibility and security.

Create a Social Media Graphic

Example: Designing a graphic for an upcoming promotion on Instagram.

IS NOT a Task

Update Copy, Redesign Page, and Update a Button Link on a Separate Page

Example: This involves multiple separate tasks, including content changes, a complete redesign, and updates across different pages, which would require breaking down into individual tasks.

Redesign Entire Website Layout and Implement New Features

Example: A complete overhaul of the website's design, adding new functionalities, and updating content would be too extensive and complex for a single task.

Develop a Custom Plugin with Multiple Features and Integrations

Example: Creating a plugin that involves complex coding, integration with third-party services, and extensive testing is a multi-step project rather than a single task.

Handle Ongoing IT Maintenance for Multiple Systems

Example: Continuous IT support and management for various systems, including network setup, security updates, and troubleshooting across multiple devices, would not fit into a single task.

Conduct a Full Website Audit and Implement All Recommendations

Example: Performing a comprehensive audit of the website's performance, security, and SEO, followed by implementing all suggested improvements, would require several tasks and phases.

Organize and Manage a Large-Scale Marketing Campaign

Example: Planning, executing, and managing a multi-channel marketing campaign involving numerous tasks and coordination efforts is beyond the scope of a single task.
